This car has been a significant part of Bill's life since he purchased it from RS&S Triumph, a British Leland dealer from Baton Rouge, LA in early 1977. The used car, with about 15,000 miles, was acquired for $3,500.00 in perfect condition. Bill's Mimosa Yellow Spitfire became his daily driver from purchase and was autocrossed about 25 – 30 events a year from 1977 until 1983. Bill's yellow Spit was Louisiana State SCCA Autocross Champion for several years in H and G Stock classes during this time. Bill's Spit is currently on about the third motor since autocrossing it in F Street Prepared took away some reliability, but the car now has many special “go fast” engine and suspension components. The Yellow Spit now enjoys some success at British Car Shows.
